Connected identity
Photograph of me
The child inside
Now a man
It’s safe to say
I am a shadow of myself
Written in the
Sunlight of my soul
The wind moves through me
Differently than it did
When I was young
Revering and held fast
To what I’ve learned
The author of my heart
A harbored hemisphere
Swept full of kisses
Cornered only
By my thoughts
That might internalize
My will on pause
For fear
To share the
Deepest part of me
Once again
My hand is open
Lips unbroken
With nothing left to offer
But myself
