Nearness

I wish that the needle that
She pierced you with
Was giving you life
Not taking it away

One more day
One more day

Jane says: “When things go wrong,
that’s when something really wonderful
happens.”

Nothing could be more awful
So then nothing could get more beautiful?
All these sounds around tickling
Me, my ears my non existent body
Tearing myself to shreds
Dreaming about how wonderful
Tomorrow will be detached

Pourquoi pas?
Pourquoi pas?

Fetch me a flame
To light a candle for love
Reminding the world of
Waves before red
And blue before sky
Earth after moon
Crescent around angels
Wings before tenacity

I would make more soup for you
A peanut butter cookie
A sandwich for two
Your favorite rotisserie
I dream of all the fish
Swimming all through
Sparkling around you

It’s only the first one day of the year
Just like you only once in a lifetime

Things couldn’t be more wrong
Now something wonderful happens

Behalf

He stopped playing the piano
But he hadn’t forgotten how to
He stopped riding his bicycle
But he still knew where it was
He forgot to meditate
But he remembered how to return
The path had changed
In the care of his keep
He was busy with life
And the challenges of it all
But he recalled the days
When doing all of these things

Meant something

To be the linchpin
Of ourselves holding the edifice
Together so as not to crumble
Explode or fall apart

Yellow leaves turned up
After the solstice was strolling past
Muddy tiles to witness inner strengths
Washed over and over to reveal
Connection and a use for time
Sliding down the fault of
Memories we attempt to get away from
Churning through the vast nature
If ostensibility is to overwhelm
To congregate in the belly of burden

When to bite and when to chew
Basic principles that should
Involuntarily teach us that
Enough is enough and that
We did all we can do

It’s a beautiful thing
Not to be through with our bodies
But to wake up in said vessels
Alive and renewed
All of our arms and legs
Working and if even only a few limbs
There’s still life in you yet
Old man

Forklift

We can adjust a reactory behavior
By doing the opposite thing
Experience it and then do not respond to
Any reaction for the experience
Something is changing the way
Your body is processing the status
And the world around you
For instance like glass breaking
Or a tea bag opening in your cup
Becomes mundane
So if it is a choice
Than the thought is
Open Opened Opens
It doesn’t exist to be bad in our mouths
The taste we have the longer we’re alive
The more memories we plant
The more joy the more leaves
And the more pain we record
I can feel it pumping
Underneath the skin
Living in the body with
A conscientiousness that begins
Says why don’t you unfold your self
To everything you’ve always wanted
Red circle and emotional pallets
Laughing out loud alone
Basic lifestyle familiarity on the couch
Forklifting the universe
He spills the tea

Live Live Live!

Whatever’s left
Beyond belief your
Wildest dreams
Keepsakes bereft
You jolt awake from
Bogged down sleep
For fear and fright
Of what is left
That your worst nights
Are getting closer to
Repeat what you detest

Live live live
We cry and oh!
Live live live
Remind us oh!
Of the greatest joys
We’ve yet to sow
Choose the new pain!
Give the old one time to heal
Choose the new pain!
Let the old wound
Close the seal
Choose the new pain!
Just to feel again
Something
Anything
Lest the old pain
Take you down again
We shall not diverge

Gravelife

Are we standing in a graveyard
Of light or the underbrush
That caught fire to clean
The forest in our hearts out

Climbing to the top of
Every building
Shouting out fearlessly
We still have more life to live
We still have more love to give

Is the sound of traffic
Rolling by before our eyes
Emptiness or the beginning
Of something grandeur
Something big
Something that says
Live, live, LIVE!

What we thought was important
May not be what we believe now
But somehow the truest
Parts of ourselves
Are taken down
Off the shelves and
Placed into a quiet action
Ready to spring at
Any given moment

We are all connected in tragedy
For the first time
We are all realizing just how much
For all of us that wanted this
Connectedness we never asked
That it should come through pain
But then again the Multiverse
Knows best

The sun continues to go
Up and down
Down and up
We find new ways to fill our cups
Somehow what seemed
To matter before has shifted
The consciousness
Of life is found bright
Underneath rocks and stones
Vibrating deep in our bones

Is this a grave yard of life
Or catastrophic breath of death
Each role takes its turn
Each frequency finds its home

As we find a home in one another
Whether it be at the end of
Valiant sight upon the green
Looking over the serene magic
We imagined to build these things
The knife has light
The drum has passion
Casting rays of heat
Through drops of rain
Like the tears of our
Ancestors on some greater plane

Standing in a graveyard
Full of life with a beating chest
Pumping vibrantly
Looking back
Looking forward
With so much more to give
Live, live, LIVE!
