To Be Nice

Thank you is enough
Prolonged deep in
A pining heart
Feel no loneliness
Emptiness still tries to
Claim a seat at the table
Uninvited
We learn how
To protect the self
From that feeling
A certain kind of
Person can give
Like a punch in the gut
Want to climb out of
My body feeling
Bad leftovers
Resist the vampire
Charm the smile and
The swarming in of a
New friend holding
Out their arms
But only there to
Clean out your goods
Take hold of whatever
Risky business
They want and manipulate
You into their
Emotionless map
Feelingless trap
I’m waiting for
Something real
Unquestionably so
We don’t have to lay
On top of one another
We can sleep
In separate corners
I only need us
To be nice

Just Wait

How little do we know
How indescribable are those
That touch us in romantic ways
Without touching us at all

Figments of imagination
Joyous points of exhalation
Screaming inside with desire
Quietly composed with
Invigorating fire

Vibrating
Pulsating
Enjoying every moment
Silently traverse
Within ourselves

If I say nothing
Will you hear me anyway
If I do nothing
Will you simply walk away

Do I move
Or remain still
With everything I feel
