Bottled Over

Constant cares
And conscious cradles
Fragments of our
Reality
In order to cease
Our availability
To open door mat
Policies and futility
Blatant discovery
Embarrasses
Chances
Bottled up
Now
Bottled over

Stop

Stop the car
Open the door
Step out into the light
Feel what life feels like
Without your phone
The earth is your home
If we do the math
Subtract the things
Minus materialistic
Values that bring us
Less comfort than
One another
Alone with all our stuff
Step out onto the bluff
Of our tomorrow
Minus all the pain
Subtracting all the sorrow
Bringing your grief
Substantial relief
Now breathe
In between the mist
Up above the flying fists
Their is a brightness
That distances the
Shadows of hope
We are the boat
To our eternity
What does it look like
Peering through the
Fisheye view
Can you see me?
I can see you
I am more when I am with you
Than all the diamonds
In the world
I choose you
I stop the car
I put on the breaks
I open the door
And there you are
Dancing in the light

Okay

I’m okay to sit back now
A pedicel observing the bouquet
Of all the works accomplished
All the arts displayed
Paintings repolished
Why even the arrangement
A spray of delight
No need to chase after my
Dreams in the night
What was once upon twenty
Is no longer the bounty
When conversation on a
Front porch swing
Is more charming
Than a stadium cheering
All my life what I wanted
Name in lights
To be someone
Is resting in solace
Knowing we are this anyway
All along more than enough
Out of all of the needs
I’ve accomplished these things
Now to quietly hammock
And watch them
Grow up to be
Like a garden of seeds
Planted over a lifetime
Finally watering
Comforting blossoming
Casually harvesting
Watch the willow of tomorrow sway
Relaxing in a holiday
Of achievements
No matter how small
The stars and a cup of tea
What a lawn chair can be
With echoes of locusts about
Orchestrating simplicity
Isn’t that the beauty
Of every such manifestation
The fruit of our trees
Standing proud in a lovely okay

Same

Am I the same
Or have I changed?
Mother always said
We are innately who
We’ve always been
When we were born
Who was that
Who is that
Who am I
In these times
The real human surfaces
The true self arises
To the occasion
When the world
Becomes writhed
With the need for
Money in ways
Even more through out the days
That are unethical to
Demand throwing numbers around
Who will you be
How much do we need
Will a heart of gold
Shine true
Or will the greed
Become too bold
Panning through people
Sifting through us all
How many are skirting
The truth
When you wear your heart
On your sleeve are you
Tempted to love
Even more deeply
Than you ever have before
Does it really change you
Does it rearrange you
If we are innately
Who we are
Who we’ve always been
Than in the end
If there was a heart
To begin with
It will be there
Love will win

What Love Is

If you were my moon
I would serenade you
Like the reeds serenade
The Betwa’s shore

If I serve you humbly in love
My heart has many colors
I can show you how the light
Can be much more
Casting through in hues
You may have never seen

One droplet of the ocean
One droplet of serene
One single ray of light
Can hold an entire body
Of meaning
A colorful night
With you

Now is the time to find you
While the world is on hold
To place different hats upon you
Dress you with the closet
Of my love

There is nowhere we have to be
Even the kitchen is a journey
We have every meadow
Between our chests
Every fragrant scent

If our heads are peonies
How would our petals kiss?
This is how you make me think
That this is what love is

Talk Talk Talk

She barks at the air
Contradicting her truth
She screams at
Water lilies when they’re
Not looking at her
Talk talk talk
Blah blah blah
How much of what she says
Is actually true?
Spitting over here
Vomiting over there
Words of yuck beguiling truth
All bubbled up
While she’s combing her hair
Talk talk talk
Blah blah blah
Where does any
Of this get you?
Shouldn’t you be exhausted
What will this all
Boil up to?
I think it comes from defeat
Seeking air from the grave
She only wants to be heard
Over and over she
Repeats herself
And asks for you to
As well
Repeat repeat
Because she cannot hear
What you say
She’s busy thinking and
Talk talk talk
Blah blah blah
Who knows what
Goes on in there
It doesn’t really change
Just wait for her to
Pop off like fireworks
If it’s quiet for too long
The signs are already there
Wait for it
It’s just pretending
If you think it’s
Getting better
You can hear her from
A mile away
And it’s the same
Standing two feet away
The tone doesn’t change
It’s just always yelling
But that’s her normal
Talk talk talk
Blah blah blah
There is no formal
Presence but to wear
A mask that parades
For others
What is classy to boot?
Just wait you might
Get lucky one day
If she knocks at
Your door
She’ll masquerade
For you too

Not So Distant

What is beautiful
When it floats past you
A glimmer of hope
Or the smoky essence
Of a dream that you
Have been waiting
To appear to you
In waking life
Before your eyes
Would we know it
I think I do
When I look at you
To find the words
Only a picture
A fantasy
So far away
Like you
But real
A connection can be made
Regardless of the
Distance
Turning over in my bed
Thoughts rolling in my head
These sheets are empty
Yet so full
Miracles of touching you
In my sleep astrally
I heard your voice
You said a name
Was it a place?
Should we meet there
I’ve never been
I opened up my atlas
To determine just how
Far you actually are
It’s a village
An actual space
I’ve never heard of it before
But you made sure
I understood the words
Never to forget
The name
Repeating it again
And again
I woke up with your voice
An echo of your words
Arresting my lips

Striving

Feeling defeated I
Sow in peace reaping a harvest
Of belief and wonder
Everyday striving
Reaching for goals
Steadily climbing
All of my life
Never really stopping
Except to take a deep steep
Slow and long breath
For the loss of a loved one

Getaway

Want to
Getaway with me?
Where would we go
What would we do
Will we come back here
Or should we just stay
Wherever we arrive
I could meet you there
Maybe you’re waiting for me
Maybe it’s just that easy

When all of this clears
When the fog lifts
Let’s have a new beginning
Almost anywhere will do
Is there a countryside
That’s calling you
Or perhaps an ocean close
We could dive into

I’m not sure that
What I’m doing now
Will end up like before
In fact I’m quite sure
That everything will be different
And in a way
That’s more than okay

It might take some time
To find our sublime
Something simple
Some special treasure
That we build out around
Our hearts
And it starts
With new beginnings
We could climb up to the top
We could repel ourselves down

There’s no right or wrong way
For us to find our space
To create a place
In a cove beneath
The stars close by
To where we park the car
Maybe horses will
Join us on a ride
Maybe we don’t need more
Than a shack next to the shore

How much do we really need
Yes indeed
Just each other
A place to make our food
My lover and my friend

See you when we get there
A playground for our hearts
Enough to keep us going
I’ve got a little saved up
I can continue to make money
Honey I’m not afraid to work
But let’s not do it all the time
Cause the goal is to find
A space where we can be
I’m not afraid to leave
If it means that I can getaway
With you

Think When

When we think about matter
Do we wonder if we do?
How much how often
Is what matters
Important
To you?

Leave it to the open
Spaces that we crave
Quantum hurtles
Electric steps between
A new mentality

How much does it matter?
What is matter anyway?
What matters to you
What matters to me
Let’s sit and
Watch the palm trees sway

Back and forth
Wave to wave
Hazel clouds
Yellow sky
In the matter
Drifting by
In the matter
Sifting signs

What’s the matter?
It doesn’t matter
It’s evident and sometimes for
Matters of the heart
A matter spiritual bliss
Is also chanting for

In the matter of these things
Can we change matter?
What about
People who matter?
Is there more work
For us to match up
To this matter?

It doesn’t matter

When we think about matter
Do we wonder if we do
How much how often
Is what matters
Important
To you…
